Xi’an, China — At this year’s 27th Scientific Meeting of the Chinese Diabetes Society (CDS), our SteriLance and Sandstone teams had the chance to connect directly with many of China’s leading endocrinologists and diabetes specialists. CDS has always been one of the most important academic gatherings in this field, and it was the right place to speak openly about a topic that hospitals still struggle with every day: how to speed up diabetes care without compromising safety.

Instead of simply presenting products, we focused on real clinical scenarios. Many clinicians shared the same concerns — needlestick injuries during busy shifts, challenges with sample consistency, and the pressure to maintain infection control while managing heavy patient loads. Our team demonstrated how single-use safety lancets and insulin pen needles can help reduce these risks and support smoother workflows on the ward.

Another highlight was the interest in standardizing capillary sampling techniques. Together with diabetes teams, we are continuing to support hospitals through practical training and clinical education, helping improve point-of-care practices and reinforcing infection-prevention standards across China.

For us, the meeting was not just about showcasing devices. It was about listening, exchanging ideas, and contributing to the ongoing effort to make diabetes care safer for both patients and healthcare workers.
